Tenny Thomas is an operations focused Chemical Engineer with more than two decades of well-rounded Process Engineering, Process Safety Management, Enterprise & Operational Risk Management, Bitumen Extraction & Tailings treatment (Academic Research), SAGD/ Upgrader/ Refinery Commissioning & Startup, Operations and Turnaround experience in the oil & gas companies of UAE and Canada. He is a dual alumnus of the University of Alberta and University of Kerala, and a registered Professional Engineer with APEGA, certified RIMS-CRMP Risk Professional and CCPS Process Safety Engineer. Currently, he leads enterprise and operational risk strategies at Suncor Energy in Calgary—covering personal and process safety, environmental stewardship, regulatory compliance, and mine/tailings risk.
