Speaker Bio
Rob “Scratch” Mitchell is a third-generation military pilot whose passion for aviation runs deep. Inspired by his grandfather’s WWII Spitfire missions and his father’s jet flying in the 1970s and 1980s, Scratch joined the Royal Canadian Air Force after earning a degree in sociology. He excelled in flight training, becoming a CF-18 fighter pilot and later a celebrated air show performer with both the CF-18 and the Snowbirds, Canada’s iconic aerobatic team.

In 2006, he returned to lead the Snowbirds as Team Lead for two years. Promoted to Lieutenant Colonel, he completed post-grad training in Australia, earned a Master’s in Strategy and Management, and picked up surfing along the way. Parallel to his military career, Scratch developed a passion for acting and storytelling. After 20 years in uniform, he made a bold leap—retiring to pursue full-time careers as an actor, producer, and air show pilot.

Today, Scratch flies the classic F-86 Sabre with Vintage Wings of Canada and performs with the Patriots Jet Team in California. As a speaker and media personality, he connects with audiences through his message of passion, focus and action. He is also a character and consulting producer on the upcoming aviation series, Airshow.
